"You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban

I fell in love with this song the first time I ever heard it. I then had the opportunity to see Josh Groban and Idina Menzel in concert at the AOL/Time Warner building in Manhattan thanks to my dad entering a contest to win free tickets to see the show. (One of the best concerts ever!!! Thanks, Daddy!) Anyway, here it is, perhaps my favorite Josh Groban song....

"Barefoot Blue Jean Night" by Jake Owen

I don't know about you, but I am sure in the mood for one of these...

"My Father's Eyes" by Eric Clapton

This is one of my favorite Eric Clapton songs (my mom's favorite is "Change the World," especially when it was used in Phenomenon). It's a live version. Clapton is a bit tricky to hear against the music, but the chorus is stellar. Happy listening!

"Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid

I believe this was the last video my mom and I shared the night of the original GMVE. And it was a stellar way to end the fun. = ) Hope you like it!

"Letters from War" by Mark Schultz

This is a phenomenal song with a great music video. I found it to be very moving. And for those of you ready to press "pause," it does have a happy ending. Enjoy!

"Keeping the Faith" by Billy Joel

"Keeping the Faith" is one of my mom's all-time favorite songs. I believe this is the first one she showed me during our original Great Music Video Exchange. So Mom, this one's for you! Love ya!

"So Close" by Jon McLaughlin

All right, so this isn't the "official" music video (I don't even know if there is one), but I found this a few years back, and it was super cute. It's mushy and super sappy (be warned), but I do enjoy watching this video.

"Superman Tonight" by Bon Jovi

Love this song! I first heard it on a commercial for USA Network to a montage of some of their best characters. Immediately knew I had to find it, and, well, here it is!

"Love Story"/"Viva la Vida" Mashup by Jon Schmidt

This is a beautiful composition arranged by Jon Schmidt for his daughter containing Taylor Swift's "Love Story" and Coldplay's "Viva la Vida." There's really no story portrayed in this music video, but the music is simply out of this world.

"Tattoos On This Town" by Jason Aldean

One of my all-time favorites, "Tattoos On This Town" by country superstar Jason Aldean. The story line in the video is very touching, yet sad. Hope you enjoy!

What Is TGMVE?

The Great Music Video Exchange (more commonly known as TGMVE) started one night a few months back. My mom and I had been hanging out, and when I went to kiss her goodnight, she was on the computer. I said, "Oh, Mom! Before I go, I have to show you something!" So I pulled up one of my favorite music videos, and we watched it. She liked it, so I played another one for her. Then she started showing me some that she likes. We called it The Great Music Video Exchange (I know you were wondering where the name came from ;) ) And, needless to say, I did not go to bed for a very long time. I think it was around 2 o'clock  in the morning when we finally called it quits.

But it was well worth being so tired the next morning. TGMVE had begun, and now I'd like to share it with you. I mean, why not? Yeah, it's silly and maybe a little pointless, but it provides some really good stress relief if you just need one of those five-minute breaks. I'm not saying I have the best taste in music (my sister would agree strongly with that statement), but I do enjoy what I listen to, and I hope you do, too.

Let The Great Music Video Exchange begin!
